Here's some
of our latest feedback:

"This is a little late in coming, but we really wanted
to thank you for all you have done for us. Our new home
is more than we could have ever dreamed. More importantly,
we appreciate the entire experience we had. We couldn't
have asked for a better company and crew. Everyone was
wonderful and really took their time with us. We are
very privileged and proud that we have such a great home
and we owe so much of it to you. We wish you nothing but
the best and if there is anything you ever need, please never
hesitate to ask."

As the owners of a finely crafted custom built home that
represents the embodiment of our dreams, we would like to
thank you for your great work.
From our first meeting with Sterling Builders, architect’s
drawings in hand, we were impressed by the focus on the customers’ vision
and preferences, and by the transparency of the proceedings.
One
important aspect was the close working relationship fostered
by Sterling Builders. We were living in Europe while
the proposal was being prepared, and did not return to the
US until nearly the start of excavation, yet we doubt we
could have worked more closely with the staff had we lived
across the street from the corporate office. A constant exchange
of e-mails during the proposal preparation was followed by
a nearly two hour conference call to review the completed
proposal. Following acceptance of the proposal, frequent
e-mail exchanges over several months kept us continuously
involved in early planning and decision making.
In the completed proposal, all subcontractors’ bids
were presented in their original form as attachments; all
cost factors were clearly identified. The clear presentation
was excellently suited to estimating the incremental costs
of changes, upgrades and downgrades, which greatly enhanced
our ability to make informed decisions throughout the project.
Indeed, regular expense reports in the same format sent by
Sterling Builders during construction permitted us to continuously
monitor our financial position. Expense reports were
fully documented with vendor receipts, workers’ hours
sheets, etc.
During the construction phase we were on site nearly every
day and had countless conferences with construction manager
Tony Meo. Tony and his crew gave excellent professional
counsel throughout. They were always open to our ideas,
and enthusiastically assessed and implemented them for us
(e.g., diagonal accent beams to follow the angles of the
high ceiling in the great room, which are quite beautiful). One
need only inspect the final product to see how skillfully
Tony and his crew work. The focus is always on getting
it done right, no shortcuts. These fellows are the
embodiment of the American work ethic.
Sterling Builders gave continuous on-site access to the
various subcontractors, so we were able to discuss ideas
and options with the people who were doing the electrical
work, plumbing, masonry, flooring, and custom tile work. Many
subtle improvements were made through this process.
Above and beyond everything else, we are delighted with
the fine craftsmanship of our custom home. The product
exceeds our fondest hopes!
Sincerely,
Joe and Marie Romaninsky

My husband and I inherited an old farmstead, beyond restoration,
with acreage on a mountaintop overlooking the scenic Upper
Delaware River Valley in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We
dreamed of creating a vital, romantic, picturesque home
with outbuildings that would harmonize with the rural countryside
and leave a legacy for our sons. Under the direction
of an acclaimed Manhattan architect, we designed a traditional
19th century farmhouse that would be connected to the good
earth, admit lots of light, cross-breezes and evoke fond
memories. Simplicity of detail, authentic methods
of construction, cheerful appearance and purpose of building
were the golden rules.
After interviewing numerous candidates, Sterling Builders
was the superior choice. Sterling captured our vision
for the project and understood timber-frame building technology.
Laying out infrastructure, roadways and power lines to
the distant summit required sensitivity to the environment
and native intelligence to navigate through dense woodlands,
marshlands and up treacherously steep ledge rock inclines
for more than one mile. Conditions on the mountaintop
building site were brutal during the winter and spring
months. Relentless
gale force winds complicated the capacity of the crane
to raise the timbers and panels. I cannot imagine
anything more dangerous.
Having engaged in many construction projects in Florida,
both commercial and residential, this was our first out-of-state
building venture. It was a pleasure working with
Sterling Builders who communicated with the architect and
us in a most professional manner, almost daily, to assure
us that every aspect of the home conformed to our plans
and expectations. Sterling’s years of experience
and ability to attract the area’s finest subcontractors
kept each job phase on schedule. Mr. Tony Meo, Sterling
partner and master craftsman, is a man of passion, vitality
and integrity. It was not uncommon for Mr. Meo and
his highly skilled, tightly knit team of craftsman, to
work a 12 hour day, all the while keeping a positive attitude
and good sense of humor. He directed his crew to
work creatively and with exact precision for flawless finish
details. Mr. Meo maintained an orderly jobsite at
all times.
Sterling Builders is an exemplary contractor; we thoroughly
enjoyed this building experience and the friendly personal
relationships. Our new farmhouse expresses every
ideal we thought was just a dream. We look forward
to working with Sterling Builders again on future projects
because they met and exceeded the highest standards of
excellence. This family-owned and operated enterprise
not only creates timeless homes, but lasting friendships.
Very truly yours,
Mrs. Richard Dimmitt |
